Portugal’s Early Stone Workers

The Cromlech of the Almedres is a megalithic complex in Portugal. The one pictured below is near the town of Evora and is about 90 minutes southeast of Lisbon. Europe, including the U.K. and Ireland, is dotted with these ancient construction sites. Current thinking suggests the building practice began in France and spread from there.
