Now RFK, Jr—himself a picture of health and vitality—has decided to plunge the US into a grand experiment in which everyone will have to pretend the Golden Age of Microbiology never happened; viruses, vaccines and antibiotics were never discovered; epidemics and pandemics are historical myths; and the genomic age of pathogens and preventive medicine never got off the ground in the 21st century.
Instead, he’ll assure the public that viruses don’t exist, vaccines are voo-doo, and miasmas, diet, and spontaneous generation are the real causes of all illnesses. And if you get the sniffles, guzzles some cod liver oil and damage your own liver with doses of vitamin A.
The data from his grand national experiment will be easy to tabulate: increased hospitalizations and increased deaths prior to the start of the RFK Jr. experiment in mass delusion.
I will say one thing for this twisted little man, he’s got an ego: Pitting his unprofessional opinion against hundreds of years of history, epidemics, and science. He’s right, we’re all wrong.
